Law of Attraction
Erimtan Archaeology and Arts Museum presents a selection of artworks that engage with archaeology and love in its new exhibition, titled Law of Attraction. The exhibition seeks to open an interdisciplinary space for reflection on the relationships between desire, distance, curiosity, passion, fiction, nostalgia, and romanticism. While focusing on the role of imagination in everyday personal relationships and scientific research, it also highlights the formative power of fiction and fantasies in shaping how humans understand and construct their past and future.
Curated by Eda Berkmen, the exhibition brings together works by Aslı Çavuşoğlu, Ayça Telgeren, Basim Magdy, Cem Örgen, Fatma Belkıs, Gizem Karakaş, İlhan Koman, James Mellaart, and Mathilde Melek An. Alongside works produced in diverse media such as painting, video, sculpture, photography, installation, and text, the exhibition also features archaeological documents. Through the proximity of ancient artifacts from the Erimtan Museum Collection and the stories they carry, the passion that led Yüksel Erimtan to collect and ultimately found a museum becomes an integral part of the exhibition’s narrative.
The exhibition can be visited at Erimtan Archaeology and Arts Museum from February 14 to September 6, 2026.
