Details From Josephine

Curator: Kimberly Hart

This exhibition, which was created in partnership with Koç University Vehbi Koç Ankara Research Center, hosted by Erimtan Archeology and Arts Museum, and curated by Kimberly Hart, featured American photographer Josephine Powell’s works focused on Anatolian rug patterns and motifs, and their geometric details. The “Details From Josephine” exhibition was intended as a different take on Anatolian culture through the lens of Josephine Powell. It presented the viewer with insights into women’s creativity in production, and the important role that the details in geometric motifs have played in the cultural legacy of the region over the years.
